"We received all the important information about a week before departure, which left us feeling uneasy at first, as flight details and therefore the exact time of our stay were only known then.
The accommodation, a small house just a 10-minute walk from the company, was comfortable and a real dream for two apprentices. The family atmosphere and warm welcome from the employees created a positive integration, reinforced by joint activities after work or at the weekend such as kayaking and playing disc golf. We were well integrated into the working environment, received support and were able to actively participate in team activities.
Contact persons were available with an open ear, and German-speaking employees were also on site in an emergency, although they were ultimately not needed. Personal initiative was required, but created a dynamic and supportive working atmosphere.
All in all, the 5-week stay was an enriching experience, in which quick information transfer (albeit at short notice), insights into everyday American working life, excellent accommodation and team activities contributed to an unforgettable time."

The next morning we went straight to the factory, where we were given a tour and were able to make some contacts. We were then introduced to our project and were able to compare it with the projects that had already been completed and use it as a reference. The next day we were able to start the project.
It was very convenient that we both had exactly the same job, as two identical machines were being built. This meant that we both always had plenty to do and could be easily integrated into everyday life in Thailand."
A stay abroad is generally possible wherever ZIEHL-ABEGG has production facilities or subsidiaries. Examples include Hungary, France, Italy, Austria, Spain, India, Singapore, India, USA and China.

Industrial and technical apprentices/students can get to know one of the production and assembly sites. Commercial apprentices/students visit a sales branch.
The choice of location also depends on the following factors:
An information event is held annually for the stays abroad. All trainees who are eligible in the following year are considered. If a trainee is not yet of age in the possible travel period, they will be included in the cycle for the following year and have the opportunity to go abroad in the 3rd year of their traineeship.
Trainees/students are insured by ZIEHL-ABEGG during working hours. It is therefore necessary to have your own international health insurance for leisure/holidays/etc.
You should also have a credit card with which you can pay abroad.
During the assignment abroad, the respective foreign public holidays apply and therefore not the regulations for German public holidays.
The working time amounts to a lump sum of of eight hours per day and depends on the local working time regulations.
A stay abroad is possible from two to three weeks.
Accommodation is organized by the branch office according to local standards.
Arrival and departure take place on working days (exception: e.g. no flight available or for long-haul flights).
The choice of means of transportation depends on the destination. In general, it is possible to travel by the following means of transportation:
To take part in a stay abroad, apprentices and students must register in advance and submit a letter of motivation in English.
The trainees are expected to be independent and reliable. In addition, the country selection and coordination is carried out by the training department.
Apprentices and students can get in touch with the relevant contact persons at the branch in advance (first meeting, accommodation). They must also write a short profile about themselves in English for the contact person so that the branch can better assess their skills.
